Project Information

The program aims to:

• Build strategic alliances between health professionals working in the agricultural, human and wildlife health sectors;
  
• Initiate research projects that will increase the understanding of disease interactions at the health interface of humans, livestock and wildlife;
  
• Collect baseline health information on Cambodia's wild animal populations to better understand disease outbreaks as they occur;
  
• Ensure that activities involving the handling of animals are carried out to the maximum standard of care, minimizing risks to personnel and animals;
  
• Implement livestock development initiatives, linking the livelihood and food security of indigenous communities to conservation outcomes; and
  
• Build technical capacity of Government personnel in understanding and responding to issues of wildlife health.
