Project Information

The overall objective of the project was to improve the economic and social security of family scale farmers and the nutrition status of rural households, and improve food availability and quality.

The project's specific objectives were to:

• Increase productivity and sustainability of family scale agriculture through development of farmers' skills, access to irrigation and development of input supply and other services to farmers;
  
• Improve resilience of family-scale farms to distress situations through safety nets mechanisms (rice banks, health insurance); and
  
• Upraise food availability and nutritive quality on the market, including the availability of adequate food for young children.
