Project Information

By integrating landmine clearance with community development, the project aimed to:

• Reduce poverty in targeted mine-affected communities;
• Strengthen local and provincial capacity in making decisions about mine clearance and allocation of land post clearance;
• Strengthen local community decision-making and improve food security; and
• Provide livelihood support and basic infrastructure such as village ponds or roads; and improve agricultural productivity.
  

The implementing NGOs, World Vision and IWDA, partnered with local and provincial government officials and local NGOs.

Complementary Information

Gender participation was promoted through the engagement of both women and men in the formulation of the annual Commune Investment Plans.
