To support an economic empowerment program for rural villagers in Northern Shan state and fund a land rights awareness training • Bookkeeping training, leadership training, peacebuilding training, human rights training, communication training, negotiation training, and mediation training • Supporting micro finance • Forming self help groups and re-empowering existing self help groups • Giving land law awareness training • Conducting workshop for drawing work plan on registration process • Networking with stakeholders in local and regional level • Drawing GIS map (*needed technical support from other stakeholders) • Helping for land register in connection with village level land committee • Women empowerment Training (Negotiation (supporting if needed) between village level land committee and local farmers to get land register without delay) (It should make coordination with BDM and village level land committee for land register.)Activities
BDM’s economic empowerment program allows villagers to have a safe space to collectively gather and work together on safeguarding their rights as well as advancing the economic interests of their community. BDM’s goal is to empower women and poorly educated villagers to understand their rights and be able to advocate for themselves and their needs through their local self-help groups.
