The project is designed to take advantage of strong and increasing government leadership and a reinvigorated strategy to alleviating malnutrition. The project’s approach will use the following strategies that align with a set of guiding principles critical to the success of the project in Lao. Strategy 1: Strengthen Lao structures and institutions for Nutrition and WASH. Strategy 2: Respond to cultural, socio-economic and religious realities and opportunities. Strategy 3: Support Female empowerment and gender equity. Strategy 4: Derive and support intervention approaches from the community. Strategy 5: Base innovative and adapted activities on global and local evidence. Strategy 6: Partner with private sector and research institutes.
