Project Information

MVMW is expected to directly contribute to improving the incomes from vegetable production for 15,000 smallholder men and women farmers in Southern Shan and Chin States.

MVMW aims to catalyze systemic change with the larger market system that will improve the lives and livelihoods of the poor. Key areas of program intervention include:

  • Inputs and Production Technology
  • Off-farm Technology, Services, and Value-Added Off-Take
  • Smallholder Market Power; and, Promoting Inclusive Business Models.

Furthermore, MVMW will consciously seek to implement programming using a conflict lens, which is innovative for market development programming both in Myanmar and globally. Integrated market, conflict and political-economic analysis will inform program decisions and help MVMW demonstrate the market case for inclusive growth and conflict sensitivity, and assist companies – both domestic and international – to adapt their business models accordingly.
