The project focuses on 12 village in 5 districts of the province and is being implemented by the provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department, supported by Pro-net 21 and funded by the JICA Partnership Programme. The SRI extension project has been ongoing since 2007, with over 600 farmers in 21 villages in seven districts of Luang Prabang province continuously using SRI on 300 hectares in the wet season and 200 ha in the dry season.
