Nam Ngum Watershed Management was completed in 1998. The proposed TA is being implemented in two phases over a 10-month period. The first phase (four months) will prepare a river basin profile and integrated river basin investment strategy that will include components for forestry and land use management, mini-hydropower development and rural electrification, rural roads, water supply, irrigation, flood control, fisheries, health and education. The second phase will prepare feasibility studies for each of the high priority investment activities identified in the irrigation, flood control, forestry, and fisheries components.
