The project aimed to help improve the market channels and market information of the products of the farmers after harvest. Farmers attended (women and men) a farmer field school, after which the women were subsequently encouraged to form SHGs. The women SHGs were encouraged to initiate funds from which members can obtain cheap loans according to the regulations set by the group. The project supplied matching grants to the village funds following strict regulation.
The project has trained approximately 3,000 farmers in vegetable and livestock production with at least 75% of the participants women.
