The project's purpose was to increase the incomes of rural smallholders from livestock production (in cash and in kind) in the project area in ways that are sustainable and equitable to both men and women. Smallholder livestock producers were the primary beneficiaries of the project. Other key stakeholders include village animal health workers, the Department and Office of Animal Health and Production, commune councils, private sector traders and other beneficiaries, and local NGOs.
