The project sought to contribute to the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger (MDG 1) through improved food security and enhanced livelihood options for Cambodian rural poor families, as well as to the achievement of MDG 7 by promoting the sustainable use of natural resources. Specifically, the project aimed to enable subsistence rice farmers in the project areas to increase their food production and income by means of dissemination of agricultural innovations, participation in genuine producer organizations/ networks, and through capacity building for community led saving/credit services.
