Deforestation and climate change are threatening the livelihoods of the rural poor in the Mekong region. Forest management by local communities has proven to be a sustainable way to meet the needs of local people and mitigate climate change. SDC supported the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC) in promoting community forestry throughout the Mekong region.
