Project Information

The development objective was to support smallholder vegetable farmers, primarily in the Greater Mekong Sub-region, in achieving more sustainable livelihoods by assisting with the efficient, profitable, healthy and environmentally sound production of vegetables through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training and the sustained application of its principles and methods.

These regional objectives remained relevant overall and steered regional program development throughout the Phase II Program (2002-2008). However, based on the Regional Program objectives above, country-specific objectives, implementation strategies and result-based logical frameworks were formulated at the start of project in order to make program interventions in each of the member countries more locally relevant.
