Project Information

The project's overall objective was to improve the overall of development of the rural communes of Quy Chau district and in particular the quality of life of individual households together with stability of the living environment.

Its immediate objectives were as follows:

• Strengthen institutional and commune capacity to conduct development planning, organization and management, carry out sector coordination, and monitor and evaluate results;
• Increase productivity of the agriculture and natural resource management sector, from which a large part of rural people derives its food security and economic well being;
• Augment the quality of rural infrastructure as well as its long term management in support of increased economic production and improved health and social services;
• Improve training and educational services through cross-sector support for effective knowledge generation, technological skills development, communication and awareness raising; and
• Improve awareness of remedial action on nutrition and sanitation issues in project communes, thereby contributing to improvement of health status and economic development of the commune people
