Project Information

The projects primary objective was to increase the benefits from agricultural and non-farming activities for farmers and the poor. Specifically, it aimed to:

• Improve the productivity and quality of the rice cultivation for farmers;
• Increase benefits from crops such as crops, vegetable, mushrooms;
• Increase benefits from pig raising for farmers, particularly women;
• Ensure a sustainable credit program for poor farmers
  

The expected outputs of the project were:

• Improved irrigation systems
• Better access to improved varieties and appropriate techniques
• Availability of good quality fruit trees available according to local demand
• Adoption of cost-effective techniques that safeguard the natural environment
• Improved access to veterinary services and knowledge on main diseases
• Adoption of raising methods that improve productivity
• Effective management of financial services and a credit scheme by a partner organization.
  

The project targeted poor farmers and non-farming households, especially women.
