The main objectives of the PRRO were to provide relief food assistance, improve household food security, prevent and treat acute malnutrition in children under 5, and prevent malnutrition in pregnant and lactating women in emergency-affected population.

The project targeted pregnant and lactating women through support in the form of a ration of similar nutritional composition with emphasis on preventing acute malnutrition.
