Project Information

The overall goal of the project was to facilitate the sustainable growth of the agriculture sector, thereby contributing to poverty reduction. Its specific objectives were to:

• improve farmers' ability to raise productivity and diversify toward high value products;
  
• improve market environment for private agro-based enterprise growth;
  
• strengtheninstitutional capacity for competitive agricultural commercialization; and
  
• provide farmers with effective agricultural support services under the project loan.
